Warthog is quite the character and symbol of Africa.  Warthogs are primarily grazers;  they will dig for roots and tubers, eat wild fruits, and are sometimes known to eat carrion.  The tusks are canine teeth that have grown out of the jaws sideways.  The number of warts on the face help to distinguish the sexes.  Males have 4 warts and females have 2.
