Klipspringer are found in rocky areas in parts South Africa. They are able to bounce from rock to rock due to their specially adapted hooves which are oval in shape with long, narrow soles and blunt tips. The coat is also unique --- each hair is hollow, flattened and spiny, much like a quill. Klipspringer are browsers. They are very territorial and mate for life, rarely more than a short distance apart.
