Baboons are found throughout most of South Africa. They are highly adaptable preferring mountainous and wooded areas.

They live in groups of  up to 70 individuals called "troops".

Baboons have a life expectancy of up to 18 years; diet consists of wild fruits, berries, insects, meat, and scorpions.

Their enemies are leopard and lion.
