Visitors must hold a valid passport to enter South Africa. Visas are NOT required for visitors from more than 80 countries including the USA, Canada, Japan, and European Union countries.
For entry into South Africa, you need to ensure your passport adheres to the following requirements. Otherwise you may be refused entry on arrival.
*** Passport Requirements for South Africa***
Minimum passport entry requirement for all travelers entering South Africa is a minimum of two completely blank visa pages in their passport. This in addition to two blank endorsement/amendment pages in the back of the passports.
This means visa pages for all non-US passport holders and two visa pages plus the two endorsement pages for all US passport holders.
If your plans include travel to any of South Africa's neighboring countries and back, please check with the consulate regarding the possible need for multiple-entry visas.
